By my reckoning, the Warriors started up in around 1962, so in their 44 year history there must be plenty of stories to tell and plenty
of reminicing about past glories, cock ups and incidents.
For the last few years, check out the wonderful original website www.woodside.blogspot.com .
It contains Kunz's "worst ball ever".
Ste Stead falls dramatically after going for a quick single , yes thats right Ste Stead quick single ! Inevitably he pulled his hamstring and screamed like a baby but Mr Stead Senior insisting that captain Kunz ( expert sports physio ) gets on the pitch to see if he'd swallowed his tongue ! ! !
Ste Stead umpiring and having a snooze as captain Kunz narrowly gets get in after going for a quick run. The opposition appeal awakens the slumbering Stead who admirably shouts ''not out'' at which captain Kunz responses ''come on Ste if you're going to umpire at least concentrate'' to which Ste replied with menace ''ok then, your OUT'' !!
Older memories include:
Things like Mr Mahoney's (uptight toff who took the game too seriously) golden duck, bowled by novice Stuart Hall who then
went on to miss a hat trick by nearly hitting silly point.
Noz's 2 wickets after 7 wides.
Kunz's full toss hit teacher Mr Zaranko in the face, bust his nose and fell onto the wicket to the predictable cries of 'Howzat'.
Tom getting a boundary.
Tom mashing his face up at Low Moor.
Jim stopping a 6 with his forehead.
Malcolm Ross breaking his leg.
Getting AGH all out for 7.
Menston needing 8 to win with 4 overs to go and 4 wickets in hand and then losing.
Kunz bowled over without getting a wide (not yet happened).Updated-- He's getting better - not wides that is !
