The Woodside Warriors have being playing 20 overs cricket since the early 1960's under the name of 'Woodside Sports and Social Club'. The Woodside Sports and Social Club was set up on the then new Woodside area of Cottingley (near Bingley in West Yorkshire, England).
Although the Woodside Sports and Social Club has long disappeared, the Woodside Warriors have continued to thrive with the guidance of Captain Richard Kunz and his less than trusty Vice Captain Tom Dziedzic. Other long term stalwarts include Graeme 'Jim' Stead, Stephen Stead, Gary Baines, John 'JK' Kenny, Matt 'Paxy' Paxford and Johnny Morris.
The Warriors don't have their own ground but regularly move from pitch to pitch every season (not through choice), for more and more bizarre reasons (they have often called themselves the Woodside Nomads). They currently play their home games at Tong Park CC in Baildon on a Wednesday night. I think all the Woodies agree that Tong Park has been their best home so far and they all hope they don't have move again (unless its to Headingley).
